Virtual Sports Week At Home
This week, RGS Worcester has joined the Youth Sport Trust and Sky Sports to help young people up and down the country engage in a week of virtual sporting challenges. With young people set to miss out on their main school sport day this summer, the Youth Sport Trust is taking its annual National School Sport Week campaign beyond the school gates and reinvented as National School Sport Week at Home.
The UK-wide campaign has given pupils the chance to capture the enjoyment, competition and camaraderie they have been missing out on during weeks of school closures and social distancing. RGS Worcester pupils have taken part in PE lessons, Games lessons, Downtime and in their free time to complete the following daily challenges:
Monday 22 June – Long Distance Run and Squat Challenge
Tuesday 23 June – Throwing and Triple Broad Jump Challenge
Wednesday 24 June – 10 x 10m Run and Workout TT Challenge
Thursday 25 June – Speed Bounce and Wall Sit Challenge
Friday 26 June – Step Challenge
Well done to all pupils who took part to represent their House. We look forward to the results before the end of term!
