RGS Worcester Production Gains National Recognition
RGS Worcester’s recent production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has received national recognition after being selected by Concord Theatricals as the official showcase production for the Secondary School Edition of the play.
Images from the RGS Worcester production now feature prominently on Concord Theatricals’ licensing page for the show, with pupils appearing in the main banner image and throughout the promotional material. The page is viewed by schools and drama departments across the UK, considering staging the production, making the selection a significant external endorsement of the quality of the School’s Creative Arts provision.
It is highly unusual for a school production to be highlighted in this way, and the decision reflects both the strength of the performances and the ambition of the production as a whole. The feature places RGS Worcester alongside professional and exemplar productions, reinforcing its reputation as a school where the performing arts are pursued to an exceptional standard.
Headmaster John Pitt commented: “This is a remarkable achievement and a wonderful recognition of the talent, commitment and creativity of our pupils, supported by the expertise of our staff. To see an RGS Worcester production showcased nationally in this way is something of which the whole School community can be extremely proud.”
The recognition adds to a growing list of Creative Arts successes at the School, including being shortlisted for the Independent School of the Year Awards 2025 in the Performing Arts category and highlights the breadth of opportunities available for pupils to perform at a high level while developing confidence, collaboration and creative excellence.
