RGS Worcester Celebrates Double Finalist Recognition at Education Today Awards
RGS Worcester has received further national recognition after being named a Finalist in two categories at the Education Today Awards 2026: Independent School of the Year and Best Use of Technology.
Announced this week, the two new finalist places bring RGS Worcester’s total to five national award nominations across three education awards programmes in 2026, including the School’s winning entry at the Tes Schools Awards in June.
The Education Today Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in education, with RGS Worcester’s selection for Best Use of Technology particularly notable as the category welcomes entries from both independent and state schools internationally. The School is among just 13 Finalists recognised for their approach to technology in education.
These latest announcements follow RGS Worcester being named Independent Senior School of the Year at the Tes Schools Awards in June, alongside its selection as a Finalist for Best Use of Technology at the same Awards. More recently, the School was named a Finalist for Co-educational Independent School of the Year at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards, with the winner set to be announced on Wednesday 14 October.
The recognition for technology reflects the School’s continued commitment to Digital Learning and innovation. The RGS Worcester Family of Schools has recently renewed its Apple Distinguished School status until December 2029, having become the first school in the world to receive the Good Future Foundation’s Gold AI Quality Mark. During the summer, RGS Worcester also became the first school to host the Apple Distinguished Schools Global Summit, welcoming educators from across the world.
Headmaster, Mr John Pitt, commented: “To be recognised as Independent Senior School of the Year in the UK and to be a Finalist in two further independent school of the year categories and two Best Use of Technology categories – five national Awards in total – is remarkable. To have this external recognition and endorsement by leaders in education encourages us to keep reviewing and developing all that we do in our Schools to provide the very best education.”
Together, these achievements recognise the work taking place across The RGS Worcester Family of Schools, from the use of technology to support teaching and learning to the breadth of opportunities available to pupils.
Congratulations to everyone on this exceptional recognition. We look forward to the Independent Schools of the Year Awards on 14 October and the Education Today Awards ceremony in London on 4 December.
