RGS Sports Leaders Support County Cricket Finals
On Tuesday 30 June, a group of RGS Worcester Years Ten and Eleven pupils visited the iconic New Road cricket ground to assist the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation in delivering the Worcestershire County Primary School Finals Cricket Competition.
The event marked the culmination of the summer-long Dynamos Schools Countdown Cricket tournament, which sees winning primary school teams from Years Three to Six across eight partnerships compete for the county title.
RGS pupils developed their Sports Leadership skills by taking on important roles in managing matches and supporting the young competitors. Throughout the day, they demonstrated excellent communication, organisation and umpiring skills.
Our leaders represented RGS Worcester with professionalism and acted as excellent role models for the primary school children. Thank you and congratulations to all the pupils involved for their hard work, enthusiasm and dedication to local school sport.
This was the final event in a busy term of collaboration between RGS Worcester and the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation. These events have provided valuable opportunities for RGS pupils to develop key leadership skills while supporting local community sporting events through the School’s wider Educational Partnerships work. We look forward to continuing this partnership next academic year.
