Golfers Impress at Gloucestershire Schools Championship
RGS Worcester golfers competed at the Gloucestershire Schools Championship at Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club, with 87 players taking part, representing 25 schools and colleges alongside 30 golf clubs.
Played in cold conditions, with hail affecting parts of the round, the Par 68 course provided a technical challenge throughout. In the Nett competition, Will Broughton recorded an excellent score of 63 (Gross 79) to finish 6th overall, while Max Wesley placed 7th in the Gross standings with a round of 74.
RGS Worcester was represented by Maisie Whittall, Max Wesley, Will Broughton, William Webber, Edward Perry and Jacob Stillavato, all of whom performed strongly in demanding conditions.
Following the event, Maisie Whittall and Max Wesley have been selected to represent the South West at the upcoming Schools Championship during the half-term break, an excellent achievement.
Congratulations to all of the golfers for an excellent set of performances, and we wish Maisie and Max the very best as they progress to the next stage.
Mr S Davis, Head of Golf and Head of Year Seven
