First TeachMeet Brings Worcester’s Educators Together
On Tuesday 14 March, RGS Worcester hosted its first TeachMeet in partnership with the University of Worcester. Held in the Joel Richards Suite at the University Arena, the event brought together teachers and trainee teachers from across Worcestershire and neighbouring counties to explore the use of Generative AI in Secondary education.
The evening was co-hosted by Deputy Head Academic, Mrs Hannah Talbot, and featured a keynote presentation from Mr Matt Warne from RGS The Grange, who considered how digital technology is continuing to shape classroom practice.
Other RGS staff also contributed to the programme, with short ‘nano-presentations’ from Mrs Laura Johnson and Mr Richard Pope, who shared practical examples of how AI is being used to support teaching and learning. These sessions provided valuable insight and encouraged discussion between colleagues from a wide range of schools and settings.
The event brought teaching colleagues together to share ideas, exchange experiences and strengthen links with the University of Worcester and the wider teaching community. Following the success of this inaugural TeachMeet, we look forward to building on this with future events and continued collaboration.
