Drama Students Experience Powerful Blood Brothers Production
On Thursday 16 October, 51 Drama students and four members of staff travelled to the Cheltenham Everyman Theatre to watch a moving performance of Blood Brothers. The trip formed an important part of the students’ GCSE and A Level Drama studies, providing valuable material for their Live Theatre examination responses.
The performance was both inspiring and emotional, holding the audience’s attention from start to finish. The students were deeply engaged throughout, demonstrating excellent behaviour and genuine enthusiasm for the experience. The emotional impact of the final scenes was felt particularly strongly, especially among three students on the trip who are twins themselves, a touching parallel to the themes of the musical.
Director of Drama, Mrs Jilly Witcomb, said: “I am incredibly proud of our students. Their maturity, focus and passion for theatre were evident throughout the evening. It’s a privilege to provide opportunities like this that bring their studies to life in such a powerful way.”
The evening proved to be not only an excellent educational experience, but also a reminder of the emotional power of live theatre.
