Alice Ottleians Return for Summer Gathering

A wonderful annual Alice Ottley Summer Gathering took place on Saturday 20 June, as 101 Alice Ottleians returned to school to reunite with old friends and meet new ones.

Attendees ranged from the Class of 1958 through to the Class of 2006, with blue and white fashion very much the order of the day.

The sun shone as Prefects guided alumnae around their old school rooms, before guests gathered in Main Hall for drinks and lunch, which included choc ices to mark the School’s birthday.

Headmaster, Mr John Pitt, shared an update about the School, including the news that RGS Worcester had just been awarded the title of Independent Senior School of the Year. The announcement prompted cheers and applause from those gathered.

Alumna, Katharine (Harrison) Owen, who was reuniting with friends from the Class of 1994, reflected on what Alice Ottley meant to her year group before proposing a toast to the School and to Alice Ottleians everywhere.

A group photograph on the Apse became an impromptu choir session, with guests joining together for a rendition of  their school song, Candida Rectaque.

Our grateful thanks to the Alumnae for returning and it was lovely to see so many former Alice Ottley School pupils. The 2027 Gathering will be held on Saturday 19 June, with many guests already noting the date in their diaries. Booking details will be shared in the autumn.
