A Magical Adventure Awaits – RGS Presents Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Anticipation is mounting as the cast and crew prepare to bring the spellbinding story of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to life on the Performing Arts Centre stage this June. With months of dedicated rehearsals behind them, the production is now less than two weeks away!
Set nineteen years after Harry, Ron, and Hermione saved the wizarding world, they are back on a most extraordinary new adventure, this time joined by a brave new generation that has only just arrived at the legendary Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. When Harry Potter’s head-strong son Albus befriends the son of his fiercest rival, Draco Malfoy, it sparks an unbelievable new journey for them all, with the power to change the past and future forever. Prepare for spectacular spells, a mind-blowing race through time, and an epic battle to stop mysterious forces, all while the future hangs in the balance.
Currently playing in major cities including London, New York, Hamburg, and Tokyo, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child remains one of the most in-demand productions globally. Securing the rights to perform this play at RGS Worcester is a great privilege and a testament to the dedication of our Drama Department. With a large and enthusiastic cast, it is especially exciting to see so many younger pupils involved in this magical production.
This year’s cast features pupils from across multiple Year groups, united by their passion for performance. Below, some of the lead cast members share their excitement:
Year Eight pupil Seb Steadman will be playing ‘Albus Potter’. Seb said, “This is my second production at RGS, and I’ve loved working with such a talented cast from so many different Year groups. I’ve learned so much along the way and can’t wait for everyone to see the show!”
Year Nine pupil Josh Tipple will be playing ‘Scorpius Malfoy’. Josh said “Being part of this amazing cast has been such a great experience. It’s been incredible to see how the production has evolved over time.”
