Fantastic Fundraising Effort For Ukrainian Charity
On Monday 30 January Perrins Hall hosted more than 100 guests for a memorable pupil-led fundraising concert. Organised by Year Ten pupil, Sasha Penlington, the concert raised funds for the charity ‘Збережи Дитину’(‘Save a Child’) which is dedicated to supporting children affected and displaced by the war in Ukraine.
Sasha arranged for over 20 of her fellow musicians to perform and the Penlington family provided traditional Ukrainian food for the interval. We enjoyed a superb evening of music-making by pupils from Year Seven to the Upper Sixth, completed by a performance from professional violinist Hannah Roper.
Organiser Sasha said: “I wanted to arrange the concert to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine and at the same time raise much needed funds for our chosen charity. By raising over £1000 we hope this concert has in some small way achieved both objectives”.
We would like to give thanks and congratulations to Sasha and all those who participated in this moving, fundraising event. Thank you also to all who have donated, your donations are very much appreciated.
Fundraising collections will continue until Wednesday 8 February, if you would like to donate and haven’t done so already please click here.
