Former Worcestershire Captain Joins as Head of Cricket
RGS Worcester is delighted to announce the appointment of former Worcestershire County Cricket Club Captain, Mr Joe Leach, as the School’s new Head of Cricket, who will join on Monday 2 November.
Joe brings extensive professional experience following a distinguished career with Worcestershire, where he established himself as one of the County’s leading all-rounders and captained the side for five years. An ECB-qualified coach, he has also worked extensively with young cricketers, supporting player development and progression towards the professional game.
As Head of Cricket, Joe will lead both boys’ and girls’ Cricket across RGS Worcester, building on the School’s existing programme. His focus will be on providing opportunities for pupils of all abilities, from those enjoying School Cricket to talented players progressing through county pathways and beyond, with a particular emphasis on continuing to develop girls’ Cricket.
Headmaster, Mr John Pitt, said: “Joe brings an exceptional combination of professional cricket, leadership and coaching experience to RGS Worcester. His approach to the game aligns strongly with what we want sport at RGS to provide: opportunities for pupils at every level, alongside the coaching and challenge that allow our most ambitious players to fulfil their potential.”
Reflecting on his appointment, Joe said: “I’m looking forward to building on the strong cricket programme already in place and ensuring there is a great experience for everyone, whatever their level or ambition.”
We look forward to welcoming Joe to the RGS Worcester community and to the continued development of Cricket across the School.
