Exceptional Examination Results Complete an Outstanding Year
RGS Worcester pupils and students celebrated an exceptional set of examination results over the summer, with the School achieving its best ever Grades 9–4 GCSE results alongside superb A Level, BTEC, CTEC and Extended Project Qualification results.
At A Level, the average grade awarded across the Upper Sixth cohort was an A. The School also achieved its best ever BTEC and CTEC results, with Distinction* the most common grade awarded, while 22 students achieved A*/A grades in the Extended Project Qualification.
The results opened the door to an exciting range of future opportunities for the School’s largest ever Upper Sixth cohort. Six students secured places at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, while others will continue their studies at leading Universities in the UK and abroad, begin competitive Degree Apprenticeships with employers including EY or pursue Gap Year opportunities. Destinations span subjects and careers from Architecture, Business, Engineering, Law and Medicine to Languages, Design and Zoology.
Among the many individual achievements, Hannah achieved three A* grades and one A and will study Medicine at Pembroke College, University of Oxford. Isabelle achieved two A* grades and one A, alongside an A* in her Extended Project Qualification, and will study History at the University of Oxford, while Ellen-Mae achieved three A* grades and one A, together with an A* in her Extended Project Qualification, ahead of studying Geography at Oxford. Harry secured an A* and two As alongside an A in his Extended Project Qualification and will read Modern Languages at Oriel College, University of Oxford.
Sasha achieved two A* grades and two As and will study History and Modern Languages at the University of Cambridge. An exceptionally talented Musician, Sasha is also a keen Debater, a superb Actor and served as a Senior Prefect in the Sixth Form.
Elsewhere, Aryan achieved two A* grades and one A and will study Biochemistry at Imperial College London, while Fynn achieved an A* and three As across four A Levels alongside an A* in her Extended Project Qualification and will study Law and Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh.
GCSE Results Day brought further celebration, with pupils achieving the School’s best ever set of Grades 9–4 GCSE results. The impressive breadth of achievement across the Year Group provides a strong foundation as pupils prepare for their next steps in the Sixth Form.
There were many outstanding individual performances. Ridhima achieved ten Grade 9s alongside significant contributions to Music, Drama, public speaking and Digital Leadership. Arthur achieved eleven Grade 9s following a year which also saw him receive an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship and contribute extensively to Music and Drama. Anya achieved five Grade 9s, three Grade 8s, one Grade 7 and one Grade 6 alongside her achievements in Cricket, while Cleo, who represented Great Britain at the Pony European Championships in France during the summer, achieved two Grade 8s, five Grade 7s and two Grade 6s.
Headmaster, Mr John Pitt, praised pupils and students for their achievements and thanked staff and parents for the support that helped them reach their potential. He highlighted the breadth of opportunities at RGS Worcester and the importance of enabling each individual to pursue the subjects, pathways and ambitions that are right for them.
The results provided a fitting conclusion to an outstanding academic year in which RGS Worcester was also named Independent Senior School of the Year at the Tes Awards 2026.
