A Fond Farewell
In the RGS Times this week, we begin our fond farewells to colleagues who are leaving RGS Worcester at the end of this term. We thank them for all they have contributed to the School and wish them every happiness and success for the future. Further farewells will be shared in next week’s newsletter.
Juliana Atyeo, Deputy Head Pastoral
Juliana Atyeo leaves RGS Worcester after four dedicated years as Deputy Head Pastoral. During her time at the School, Juliana has led Pastoral Care with compassion, calmness and a deep commitment to pupil wellbeing, ensuring pupils feel known, valued and supported. She has also inspired the community through her own example, including completing the Manchester Marathon for the British Heart Foundation. We thank Juliana for her outstanding service and wish her every future happiness and success. She remains an RGS parent as her son moves into Year Ten in September.
Jilly Witcomb, Director of Drama
Jilly Witcomb leaves RGS Worcester after twelve years of outstanding service leading RGS Drama and supporting the wider School community. Since joining in 2014, she has inspired pupils through her choice of ambitious productions, expert teaching including at GCSE and A Level and more recently her leadership of the Creative Arts Faculty. Jilly was also Head of Tennis for three years. We thank Jilly for her energy, vision and lasting contribution to Drama at RGS, and wish her every happiness and success as she returns to the Middle East at Rugby School Dubai.
Robert Lewis, Head of Rugby
Robert Lewis leaves RGS Worcester after six excellent years, during which he has overseen a significant period of development of Rugby at the School. Under his leadership, RGS Rugby has enjoyed memorable success, including Modus Cup victories at Sixways Stadium, while pupils have been supported through the elite player pathway and encouraged to develop a lifelong love of the sport. Rob has also been an Assistant Head of Year and has supported the Athlete Development Plan. We thank Rob for his dedication and wish him every success in his new role at Hereford Cathedral School which is close to where he and his young family live.
Andrew Hutchinson, Head of Modern Foreign Languages
We say a fond farewell to Andrew Hutchinson as he leaves RGS Worcester to become Head of French at Pershore High School. As Head of Modern Foreign Languages, Andrew has made a valued contribution to the School, supporting pupils in the classroom and helping Modern Foreign Languages to flourish through European Day of Languages celebrations, trips to Madrid and exchanges to Nantes. We thank Andrew for all he has given to RGS Worcester and wish him every success in his new role.
Max Farmiloe, Teacher of Philosophy & Religion
Max Farmiloe leaves RGS Worcester having made a significant contribution to the intellectual life of the School. With impressive subject knowledge and a passion for deep thinking, he has encouraged pupils and colleagues to read widely, question thoughtfully and explore complex ideas with confidence. His high standards, academic rigour and enthusiasm for learning have been greatly valued. We thank Max for all he has contributed and wish him every success as Head of Department at Lancing College in West Sussex.
