National Recognition for RGS Footballer
Year Nine pupil Oscar Greenwood recently had the honour of representing RGS Worcester at the Under 14 England ISFA camp in London, a three-day event bringing together some of the country’s most promising young footballers. During the camp, Oscar competed in a highly competitive tournament that featured seven academy sides, including teams from the USA and Scotland, providing a unique opportunity to test his skills against top-level international opposition.
Throughout the tournament, Oscar’s team demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and technical ability, progressing all the way to the final. Although they narrowly missed out on victory, the experience allowed Oscar to challenge himself in a high-pressure environment and gain invaluable insights into elite-level Football, from advanced coaching sessions to tactical development exercises.
The camp offered a competitive platform and also provided exposure to a diverse range of playing styles and strategies, giving participants a broader understanding of the game on an international scale. For Oscar, this was a chance to grow both as a player and as an individual, embracing new challenges and experiences along the way.
RGS Worcester congratulates Oscar for this outstanding achievement. His performance at the England ISFA camp is a testament to his talent, commitment and dedication to the sport. The experiences and lessons gained during this remarkable opportunity will undoubtedly contribute to his continued development in Football and beyond.
