RGS Cricketers Win Worcestershire Under 13 Indoor League Cup
Four talented RGS pupils played a key role in helping Ombersley Cricket Club secure victory in the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation Under 13 6-a-side Indoor League Cup. After a strong performance in the group stages, the team progressed to Finals Day.
In a tense semi-final against Wombourne CC, the team kept their composure to edge a narrow win by around seven runs. They carried this momentum into the final, where they faced Hagley CC and once again held their nerve to claim another close victory by a similar margin.
Year Eight pupils Seb Steadman and James Grice, who have played consistently throughout the winter season, were joined by Year Six pupils from RGS The Grange, Samar Reddy and Louie French. Called up at the last minute to replace unavailable teammates, Samar and Louie rose to the occasion with confidence and enthusiasm. Despite only meeting their new teammates ten minutes before the semi-final, the boys worked brilliantly together and supported each other throughout, showing impressive teamwork and resilience.
Their combined efforts not only brought home the trophy but also made for an exciting and memorable end to the indoor Cricket season.
