RGS Pupils Shine in Inaugural Dance Showcase
Last Friday we celebrated Dance at RGS with the first Teatime Showcase in the Performing Arts Centre. The Showcase was a fantastic platform that highlighted the Dance talent of the performers in Years Seven and Eight. The pupils presented work in a variety of different styles such as Lyrical, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary and Street Dance. Each piece was confidently introduced by our brilliant Sixth Form comperes: Winnie Lock and Scarlett Trembecka-Ross. The preparations for the Showcase started in September and the pupils have worked hard to prepare, rehearse and choreograph the twenty-two Dance numbers during our two Dance Clubs, and in addition, a couple of pupils also prepared solo work outside School.
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the final preparations for the Showcase, where they had the opportunity to select the production elements for their pieces, especially deciding upon the lighting to reflect the mood and intention of their work.
We would like to congratulate all of the pupils involved for their dedication and efforts. From the first rehearsal to the final performance, they all worked with commitment and focus which is truly commendable.
