The Big Push 2, Another Big Success
Year Eleven pupil, Libby Parker, successfully completed a marathon distance trail in her wheelchair, with the support of friends and family members last Sunday.
The group successfully completed the ‘Big Push 2’ around Worcester to raise awareness and funds to support children with Long Covid, reaching the donation target of £3,000.
The group completed the marathon distance in 11 hrs and 10 minutes, finishing at RGS Worcester just after 6.30pm.
John Pitt, Headmaster of RGS Worcester said: “It was wonderful to welcome Libby and her family and supporters at the School and celebrate another successful day of fundraising. We were able to share refreshments and cake to recharge after the marathon distance. Very well done to everyone and I am sure that the event not only raised valuable funds but also increased awareness of the challenges many people are still facing from the effects of the Pandemic”.
Before Libby embarked on the ‘Big Push 2’, she had already gained recognition, making headlines in the Worcester News. Following the completion of this incredible feat, Libby’s story reached an even wider audience, featuring in the Midlands Today segment of BBC Breakfast.
At the finish line, Libby and her family thanked everyone for their support and donations. Libby commented: “It feels really good to have completed the ‘Big Push 2’, thank you to everyone who has been involved and donated and I look forward to organising more fundraising for Long Covid Kids”.
Congratulations to Libby and her family for their extraordinary accomplishment, and we look forward to continuing our support for this important cause.
