World Cup Selection for Former Pupil Alice Atkinson
Former RGS Worcester pupil Alice Atkinson has been selected to represent England
at the Hockey World Cup, marking another outstanding milestone in her international career.
Alice attended RGS Worcester from 2010 to 2023 and was a familiar face across School sport, representing RGS in both Hockey and Netball. Alongside her time at School, she played club Hockey for Stourport and went on to represent England at age-group level, securing a Bronze medal at the Under 21 European Championships.
Since leaving RGS, Alice has continued to progress within the international pathway. Her experience has included representing Great Britain during a squad trip to China, before earning selection for the full GB Women’s Hockey squad.
Her latest achievement follows a determined return from a hamstring injury which required five months of rehabilitation. Having faced a significant period away from competition, Alice returned to international action at the Pro League in London, where an excellent performance demonstrated her readiness to compete at the highest level once again.
Becoming a professional Hockey player has long been Alice’s ambition and her selection for the World Cup represents another significant step in an exciting sporting journey.
We congratulate Alice on this outstanding international achievement and wish her and the England team every success at the World Cup. We look forward to following her continued progress and celebrating further achievements in the future.
