Voices of the future
We were delighted to hear that two RGS pupils have been using their drama skills to bring characters to life by providing voice-overs for the new CBeebies animation, ‘B.O.T. and The Beasties’.
Year Eight pupils, Sasha Penlington and Kieran Lilley, both recorded voice-overs which are used in the new animation series from award-winning children’s television producers, Ragdoll Productions.
Sasha recorded her narration for five episodes of ‘B.O.T. and The Beasties’ (Fruity Tapper, Squiggling Tooter, Galloping Yelp, Springy Snip, Snowy Snooze) during the Summer, 2020 which were broadcast this week. Kieran’s recording took place a little later and his voice-over debut will appear in five episodes of the same series (Wavy Wig, Spacey Squeezer, Drifty Shouter, Jumbly Splitter, Snowy Builder).
Having grown up with Ragdoll productions such as ‘In the Night Garden’ and ‘Teletubbies’, Kieran felt very privileged to be involved in one of their shows and explains: “It was quite spooky being shut in a totally silent sound booth” but adds, “I came out with the biggest smile!”.
This is certainly an exciting opportunity for these talented young actors. You can watch episodes of ‘B.O.T. and the Beasties’ on weekdays at 10.50am or catch up on BBC iPlayer here.
