String Quartet Delights Guests at Mayor’s Banquet
On Friday 26 September, the RGS String Quartet performed at The Guildhall Worcester for the Mayor’s Inaugural Banquet. The Quartet, comprised of students in Years Ten and Eleven, were honoured to perform their repertoire in front of such esteemed guests.
Pupils Arthur, Nicole, Denis and Finlay performed during the drinks reception in front of guests, including representatives from local charities, civic leaders, and educationalists, among others. Many guests enjoyed the performance of various pieces of music, ranging from Fly Me to the Moon to Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5.
This charitable banquet is hosted each year by the Mayor, with proceeds from this year’s event going to Acorns Children’s Hospice, which provides palliative care services and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Director of Music, Mr Conway, said, “It’s always a pleasure to work with the community, and to be invited to perform at the Mayor’s Banquet for such a good cause is particularly special. Thank you and well done to our fabulous String Quartet.”
Please do join us in Perrins Hall on Wednesday 5 November for the Autumn Concert.
