Sport and Leadership on Display at Primary Schools’ Netball Tournament
On Thursday last week, RGS Worcester hosted its annual Primary Schools’ Netball Tournament, welcoming local schools for an afternoon of competitive Netball focused on participation, teamwork and leadership.
The Tournament featured teams from Claines CofE Primary School, Northwick Manor Primary School, Pitmaston Primary School, St Barnabas CofE Primary School, St George’s Catholic Primary School, St George’s CofE Primary School, Sytchampton Endowed Primary School and The Lyppard Grange Primary School. Throughout the afternoon, pupils demonstrated enthusiasm, teamwork and a positive approach, contributing to an excellent standard of play across all fixtures.
There was some closely contested Netball on display, with matches particularly tight between Claines Primary School, Sytchampton Endowed Primary School and Northwick Manor Primary School. Four pupils were recognised for outstanding performances during the Tournament and were rewarded with the opportunity to act as ball girls at Superball, providing a memorable extension to an already impressive afternoon.
Claines Primary School were crowned Tournament winners, with Sytchampton Endowed Primary School and Northwick Manor Primary School finishing as joint runners-up following a series of closely fought matches.
The Tournament was supported by RGS Sports Leaders, with Year Ten pupils assigned to each visiting school to offer guidance and support throughout the afternoon. In addition, two Sports Leaders oversaw scoring and timekeeping, ensuring the smooth running of the Tournament while gaining valuable experience in leadership, organisation and communication.
RGS Worcester would like to thank all participating schools, staff and supporters for contributing to a successful and enjoyable event and looks forward to welcoming local primary schools back for future sporting opportunities.
