Rowing in Cyberspace – pupils and parents
RGS rowers were invited to participate in a Stay-at-home Regatta organised by Monmouth Boys’ School. 35 teams of four took part including 4 teams of RGS rowers and 3 teams of parents (rowing under the banner of the Pullinger Boat Club). Rowers of all ages and abilities took part, each rowing the 1k distance as a Time Trial and then progressing on to the semi-final and final.
Rowers could log into Zoom for the regatta and it was great to see some team bonding over the internet as well as some rather intense family rivalries!
There were some notable performances achieved by the J15 boys, who all managed sub-4 pieces and Menna Sutton, Year Ten managed 3:52.3. Well done, too, to the parents for participating.
Thanks to all who took part and supported and special thanks to Mr Smith (father of Emily and Matt) for coordinating the parents’ results.
