Gold, Silver and Bronze for RGS in Physics Olympiads
RGS Worcester pupils have achieved an impressive set of results in this year’s Physics Olympiads, with strong performances across both the Senior and Intermediate competitions.
In the Senior Physics Olympiad, taken by Lower Sixth students, all entrants were awarded medals, reflecting a consistently high standard across the cohort. Four pupils achieved Gold awards (22%), alongside seven Silver (39%) and seven Bronze (39%) medals. This represents a particularly encouraging outcome, with a higher proportion of Gold awards than in the previous year.
Year Eleven pupils also performed strongly in the Intermediate Physics Olympiad. Eight pupils were awarded Gold (15%), with a further 26 achieving Silver (48%), 19 Bronze (35%), and one Commendation (2%). Despite a slightly smaller cohort, the overall distribution of awards remains in line with the School’s strong performance in recent years.
These results highlight both the depth of talent in Physics, reflecting the strength of Physics across the School, with pupils demonstrating impressive problem-solving skills and a confident grasp of complex scientific concepts.
