Annual Worcester and District Cross-Country Championships
The annual Worcester and District Cross-Country Championships took place at the start of this term with over 300 pupils from across the area competing.
RGS once again hosted the event at RGS The Grange, with support from our Sixth Form Sports leaders. The undulating course and cold weather provided an invigorating challenge for over 30 of our pupils from Years Seven through to Year Ten who took part!
There were excellent performances from many pupils, with 11 pupils successful in qualifying for the County Championships at the end of January. Highlights included achieving three of the top five finishers in the Year Seven Boys’ race courtesy of Henry Morgan, Harry Morton, and Harrison Pritchard. For the girls, Julia Gebhardt finished 3rd in the Intermediate race and at Junior level, we had a strong showing with five RGS pupils in the top 12 including Claudia Barker in 5th place and Lexi Agoston winning.
