June Concert Series – RGS filled with the Sound of Music
Whilst the classrooms of RGS were quiet during the Internal Exams week that has just passed, the virtual, online airwaves around RGS were well and truly ‘alive with the Sound of Music’, as the June Concert Series was released across RGS social media channels. In place of being able to perform to a live audience, nine of our Year group specific ensembles and choirs made audio (and, in several cases, visual) performances of the pieces they have been working on over the last few months, with one or two of these films being released every day from 9 to 16 June. From The Pink Panther and Dr Who theme tunes, to songs from stage shows and a sensational sea shanty, our musicians and singers have thoroughly entertained us with the following performances:
Sixth Form Girls Choir: Slipping Through My Fingers and Burn
Sixth Form Barbershop: Ain’t No Sunshine
Year Nine Ensemble: The Pink Panther
Year Eleven Choir: Stand By Me
Year Nine Choir: How Far I’ll Go, from Moana
Year Eight Ensemble: The Dr Who Theme
Year Nine and Ten Choir: The Wellerman
Sixth Form Jazz Combo: Playin’ In The Yard
We congratulate and applaud all who have performed in these films.
