This year’s results reflect the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our pupils, as well as the unwavering support from our dedicated teaching staff and the wider school community. Best Ever GCSE Results 2026 at RGS Worcester

RGS Worcester pupils, their families and staff celebrated the School’s best ever set of Grades 9 – 4 GCSE results.

The excellent GCSE results followed our superb A Level Examination Results, where the average grade awarded across the cohort was an A, completing an exceptional year of achievement at RGS Worcester.

The results mark another significant year for RGS Worcester, which was named Tes Independent Senior School of the Year 2026 earlier this summer.

John Pitt, Headmaster, commented, “Well done to our pupils who have performed extremely well in their GCSEs and set themselves up for success in the Sixth Form. Congratulations to the teachers for their encouragement and expertise and thank you to parents for entrusting your children to our care. The academic stretch and challenge as well as support at RGS helps each individual pupil to achieve their potential. The opportunity to choose from such a large range of GCSE subjects and create an individual programme that works for each pupil really does make a difference. They now have the opportunity to choose from over 30 subjects in the Sixth Form alongside the unique RGS enrichment and ‘future-ready’ programme and a breath-taking range of co-curricular opportunities.”

Pupil Stories

Discover some of the individual stories and achievements behind this year’s outstanding GCSE results.

Digital Leader and musician Ridhima achieved all Grade 9s in 10 subjects. In addition to her studies, Ridhima excels in performing arts, public speaking and digital leadership at RGS Worcester. She delivered a superb performance as one of the lead roles in the senior production of the musical The Band. In addition, she reached the regional finals of the English-Speaking Union (ESU) Public Speaking Competition. As a Digital Leader, Ridhima showcased her technological expertise on a national stage at the BETT Show 2026 in London, giving a confident solo presentation about how digital tools support her daily learning.

Arkwright scholar, Musician and Drama Student Arthur achieved 11 Grade 9s. Arthur is a multi-talented pupil at RGS Worcester who was recently awarded a prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship for his significant potential in the field. He is also a prominent figure in the school’s performing arts, notably directing the RGS Orchestra during a major concert at Worcester Cathedral and delivering standout vocal performances in the musical The Band and with the Senior Jazz Ensemble.

Mirin achieved an incredible 10 GCSEs with 8 at Grade 9 and 2 at Grade 8.

Musician Denis achieved 11 GCSEs with 9 at Grade 9 and 2 at Grade 8. Denis is a talented musician at RGS Worcester who contributes to both vocal and instrumental ensembles. As a member of the all-male acappella group, the ‘Dashing Musical Chaps’, he performed at the Sunshine Music Festival in 2025, alongside many school performances. Additionally, he is a violinist in the Senior Jazz Ensemble, notably performing an improvised solo at the ‘Christmas with the Big Band’ concert.

1st XV Rugby player Mick, who returned from the RGS Rugby Tour to South Africa the week before exam results day, achieved all Grades 6-8 in 9 subjects.

Talented 1st XI Girls Cricket player and Worcestershire County Cricketer Anya achieved 10 GCSEs with 4 at Grade 9 and 4 at Grade 8.

Cleo who represented GB in the Pony European Championships in Summer 2026 in France achieved 9 GCSEs all Grades 8-6.

Mirin achieved an incredible 10 GCSEs with 8 at Grade 9 and 2 at Grade 8.

Lucas achieved a superb 11 GCSEs with 8 at Grade 9 and 3 at Grade 8

Upper Sixth students celebrate excellent results and exciting futures

Students at RGS Worcester celebrated an excellent set of A Level, BTEC and CTEC results, with the School’s largest ever Year Thirteen cohort securing places at leading universities, competitive degree apprenticeships and a wide range of exciting future destinations.

Alongside another extremely strong set of A Level results, this year also saw the School’s best ever BTEC and CTEC results, underlining the breadth of academic and vocational excellence across the Sixth Form. The most common BTEC/CTEC grade achieved was Distinction*

In addition, the students achieved the School’s best ever Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) results with 22 students achieving A*/A.

The diversity of student destinations is equally impressive. From Architecture, Business, Design, Education, Engineering, Geography, Languages, Law, Medicine, even to Zoology, RGS Worcester students will now embark on an extraordinary range of degree courses and career pathways.

Six RGS Worcester students achieved their places at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, while others have accepted places at other leading universities across the UK and abroad or secured highly competitive degree apprenticeships with employers such as EY.

The sheer range of subjects, Universities, Apprenticeships and Gap Year experiences that our students are pursuing is so exciting and demonstrates the support they receive to achieve the places they have chosen. From studying traditional professions, the Arts and new courses for a future world, these students will make a real difference. They have done so well and deserve every praise and congratulations.

We had a truly exceptional year at the School last year, crowned by being selected as Independent Senior School of the Year in the Tes Awards 2026. Pupil Stories

After six RGS Worcester students achieved places at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, here are some of the highlights from this year’s exceptional cohort:

Aryan secured A*A*A grades and will take up a place to read Biochemistry at Imperial College London.

Deputy School Captain, Girls’ First XI Hockey Captain and accomplished musician Fynn will study Law and Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh after taking four A Levels and achieving A*AAA in History, Chemistry, French and Mathematics and achieving the highest possible mark in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

Finlay has accepted a highly competitive degree apprenticeship with EY having achieved AAB Grades in Economics, History and Maths,

Sporting twins Eden and Ellis also celebrated their results today. First VII Netball Captain Eden, who also plays for Nottingham Forest Under Nineteen NPL, will study Law at the University of Exeter while continuing her netball career. Ellis, the School’s Football Captain, will study Geography and Management at Loughborough University. They achieved 5A and 1B grades between them.

Harry achieved all 4 A*s and will head to Durham University.

Lillie has secured a place with Norland College to train in Early Childhood Education and Care after achieving a top Distinction* in the Business CTEC and A and B Grades in Sociology and Psychology at A Level. Lucy is off to University of Exeter to study Business and Management with Industrial Experience having achieved AAB Grades in Geography, Business and Biology

Engineering continues to thrive at RGS Worcester. Nationally recognised Arkwright Engineering Scholar William achieved A*A*AB in Physics, DT, Mathematics and Chemistry A Levels and will study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. He is one of three RGS Worcester students beginning Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering-related degrees this autumn, highlighting the well-known strength of engineering pathways at RGS.

School Captain and Girls’ First XI Cricket Captain Isabelle achieved an outstanding A*A*A in Geography, Biology and Chemistry. Isabelle will now study Geography at the University of Exeter. Fellow School Captain and First XI Cricketer George will also be heading to the University of Exeter, where he will study Politics, Philosophy and Ethics.

Exceptionally talented Musician Sasha will study History and Modern Languages at the University of Cambridge after studying four A Levels at RGS. Sasha is also a keen Debater, a superb Actor and was a Senior Prefect in the Sixth Form.

Senior Prefect Hannah achieved outstanding results of A*A*A*A in Biology, Chemistry, History and Mathematics A Levels and will study Medicine at Pembroke College, University of Oxford. Senior Prefect Isabelle will study History at the University of Oxford after achieving A*A*A in History, Philosophy and Maths as well as an A* in her EPQ. During her time at RGS Worcester, Isabelle masterminded the School’s Model United Nations Conference and was also an accomplished singer and flautist. Senior Prefect Ellen-Mae will study Geography at the University of Oxford having achieved A*A*A*A in English, Geography, Spanish and Biology A Levels and an A* in her EPQ. Deputy School Captain Harry a keen rower, will read Modern Languages at Oriel College, University of Oxford after achieving A*AA in French, Economics and Mathematics and an A grade in his EPQ.

Siblings Isabelle and Harry also celebrated together. Isabelle will study Psychology at Newcastle University, while Harry will study Law at the University of Exeter. Between them they secured 2A* and 4 A grades as well as A* and A grades in their EPQs.

Aryan secured A*A*A grades and will take up a place to read Biochemistry at Imperial College London.
