And the Results Are In… Celebrating a Year of House Success
The final Term of the academic year began in earnest with House Shooting, which saw Mr Joyner’s Whiteladies House take the win just ahead of Elgar House.
Ottley House pipped Wylde House to the top spot in a keenly contested Spelling Bee in the Lecture Theatre at the start of May, producing an exceptional performance to wow the English Department. In the Rubik’s Cube race, Wylde achieved a rare three-peat, but Ottley were not far behind and will surely challenge for the title in the future.
The Food Bank Collection saw an incredible amount of food and non-perishable items collected from across all 4 houses, meaning that a fantastic amount of goods were able to be donated to Worcester Food Bank. In the end, it was Whiteladies that donated the most, but everyone involved deserves to be congratulated for their charitable donations.
As the race for the overall title entered the final stages, the always-competitive House Mathematics event once again provided the perfect opportunity to crunch the numbers, with Wylde winning through on the day, just seeing off Ottley in second place.
This year’s theme for Junior Dance was Abba and it was fiercely fought between Ottley and Wylde, with the Otters’ impressive costumes being the deciding factor, giving them the victory.
To bring the curtain down on the 2024-25 House competition, attention turned to St Oswald’s for the three Sports Days on consecutive sunny afternoons in June. It was fantastic to see great participation from all four houses, in what proved to be a closely fought competition, with Elgar doing particularly well in the Inters competition, but ultimately, Whiteladies took home the most points across the three days.
Trinity overall standings:
1st = Ottley (36.5 points)
2nd = Whiteladies (35 points)
3rd = Elgar (34.5 points)
4th = Wylde (34 points
This then leads us to the overall standings for this academic year:
4th = Wylde (157.5 points)
3rd = Elgar (159 points)
2nd = Ottley (166 points)
1st = Whiteladies (176 points)
Congratulations to Mr Joyner and Whiteladies!
And thank you to Mr Webster and all the House Leaders and Captains for all their efforts this year. And particular thanks to Mr Webster and Ms Joyner, who are leaving RGS today and who have led Ottley and Whiteladies with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit over the last few years. Dr Davison takes on the role of Senior House Leader from September.
