Year Seven Pupil Competes in National Tumbling Championships
Congratulations to Year Seven pupil Ella Dovaston, who competed in the English Silver Tumbling Championships and placed an impressive third in the country in the Regional 2 – Girls aged 10–12 category. To secure her place at this prestigious competition, Ella had to qualify in the top two in the West Midlands earlier this year, a feat she accomplished with a first-place finish in March.
At the finals, Ella was up against 15 of the top tumblers in England and performed with confidence and composure. She now holds the ranking of third in England for her category in 2025.
Reflecting on the competition, Ella shared: “At the competition, I felt very nervous at the start because it was such a big deal and I wanted to do well, but after I competed all the nerves went straight away. At this competition, after you went down the track, your score would go on a website and a screen so I could see what I got and see what place I was in.” She added, “Always put effort in if you want to do well.”
Ella now looks ahead to a major national competition in July, which will determine her GB ranking for the year. Last year, she finished third nationally, and we wish her the very best of luck as she prepares to compete once again at the highest level.
