Girls’ Under 15 Cricket Team Triumphs as County Champions
The Girls’ Under 15 Cricket team are now 2024 Lady Taverners County Champions after a match against Bromsgrove School, held at The University of Worcester Arena. RGS Worcester bowled Bromsgrove School out for 50 runs, ultimately securing victory by 6 wickets in an 8-a-side match, all accomplished within 5 overs per side.
The County competition showcased several remarkable moments. In total, 405 runs were scored across 5 matches and 40 wickets were taken throughout the tournament, with RGS Worcester bowling out every opposing team. On their way to securing a place in the final, RGS beat King’s School Worcester in the semi-final. There were outstanding performances from the RGS players, including Anya Peddareddy’s remarkable achievement of securing 5 wickets for 0 runs in just 2 overs during the Final, with an extraordinary feat of 4 wickets in 5 balls. Emily Jackson and Grace Norris also displayed exceptional bowling accuracy, while Isla Goold exhibited superb wicketkeeping skills, earning recognition as the best ‘keeper in the competition

The Girls’ team demonstrated excellent teamwork, spirit, and resilience throughout the Tournament. The Under 15 team now look forward to competing in the Regional Finals at Edgbaston in April. If the Regional Finals prove successful, the Under 15 Girls will advance to the prestigious National Finals at Lord’s in June.
