The Annual Careers & Higher Education EXPO Excites
Yesterday afternoon we welcomed over 100 representatives from across the UK and Europe to our annual Careers & Higher Education EXPO. This annual event is the largest of its kind in Worcestershire and is designed to inform and inspire pupils about the various opportunities available after they complete their education in the Sixth Form, whether that is at University, through Degree Apprenticeships, or in the world of work.
This year we welcomed representatives from a wide range of organisations, businesses and professions including Medicine, the Armed Forces, Solicitors, Architects, Technology, Engineering, Creative Arts and Financial services.
RGS Worcester’s Head of Careers, Mrs Audrey Williams, who organised the EXPO, said, “As the major event of its kind in the area, the reputation of the RGS EXPO attracted considerable interest both locally and further afield, with exhibitors travelling from as far North as Strathclyde and Stirling in Scotland. Many of the UK’s leading Universities were also in attendance, advising on Higher Education options, Degree Apprenticeships and work experience too”.
Pupils from all Year groups at RGS were invited and encouraged to attend, along with their families, to gather ideas, initiate conversations, be inspired and think ahead to the many career pathways that are available to them in the future.
A Year Eleven Pupil from The Chantry commented: I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Careers EXPO. It was a great opportunity to explore future education and career options. I am currently studying for my GCSEs so for me it was the perfect time to make use of an opportunity such as this”.
Thank you to all the exhibitors who joined us and to the parents, Teachers and Support Staff who helped make the event happen. We had over 720 visitors on the day!
