Sports Awards Evening Celebrates a Year of Achievements
Middle School and Sixth Form pupils gathered in Perrins Hall last Thursday evening for the annual Sports Awards Presentation Evening. This event celebrates Senior Sport at RGS and recognises collective and individual contributions to a successful Sporting year.
During the Awards Ceremony, the Sports Captains for the next academic year read the reports for each Sport, they then invited pupils on stage to collect their Awards. Colours were awarded to Upper Sixth leavers and the major Sports Awards were presented by the Director of Sport, Mr Fowles.
We would like to thank all of the pupils for their hard work and commitment this season at whatever level they have played across a wide range of Sports.
Major Sports Awards were presented to the following:
- The Greenway Cup for Best All Round Sportsman – Freddie Ammonds
- The Wootten Cup for Best All Round Sportswoman – Katy Pitt
- The Janet Greene Cup for the Female who best epitomises our Charter for Sport – Sarah Dudley
- The Reynolds Cup for the Male who best epitomises our Charter for Sport – Henry Welsby
- The OE’s Prize for Sporting Excellence for Girls – Olivia Hodgson, Lucy Whiteley
- The OE’s Prize for Sporting Excellence for Boys – Lochie Lovell, Theo Houston, Maxwell Moses and Thomas Odell
In addition to celebrating the pupils’ achievements, the evening was an opportunity to thank the coaches and teachers for their time and commitment to supporting Sport at RGS Worcester. Without their constant drive and passion for developing Sport, none of the Sporting success at RGS would be possible.
