Sharing a Love of Cricket
Following Saturday’s emphatic victory against King’s School, the 1st XI Cricket team maintained their good form with a comprehensive victory over the Gentlemen of Worcestershire this week. Having been set a target of 198 in 40 overs, this was achieved in quick fashion with only 28 overs needed. The principal run makers were Captain Ben Sutton with 59 and Sebastian Scott who scored an outstanding maiden hundred with 101 not out. Unfortunately, this was achieved at a cost with our centurion from last Saturday, Sam Ford, suffering a triple finger fracture, which rules him out for the remainder of the season. Nevertheless, both he and Sebastian will appear on the board in the Flagge Meadow pavilion alongside famous cricketers such as Imran Khan and Tim Curtis. Our season ends with the RGS Schools’ Cricket Festival at Newcastle in two weeks’ time.
