Winners of the 2024 Bevere Gallery Art Awards Announced
We are delighted to share that two RGS pupils have been announced as winners of The Bevere Gallery Art Awards. The Bevere Art Awards are awarded each year for outstanding achievements at GCSE and A Level.
This year’s recipients are Year Eleven pupil Hope Bradley and Upper Sixth student Ella Snow.
Hope Bradley received her award from judges Kim and Alastair Taylor for her exceptional ability to create movement and energy in her artwork. Her large drawing was highly accomplished, with the collage adding texture and the subtle orange highlights enhancing the piece’s effectiveness. Her work demonstrated a strong understanding of medium, form, light, and shade. Additionally, her smaller works, including a three-head piece and a landscape, exhibited depth and quality, marking her as an artist to watch.
Ella Snow impressed the judges with her remarkable use of colour and realism in her lifelike portraits. Her ability to convey the emotions of her subjects through her paintings left the judges in awe, with comments including “Amazing! Wow!” Some of her portraits required a close examination to appreciate the intricate layering of paint, demonstrating her technical skill and artistic sensitivity.
We would lie to thank Kim and Alastair Taylor for their continued support of the Creative Arts at RGS. The Bevere Gallery also provides invaluable work experience opportunities to Sixth Form students and exhibits artwork by RGS artists. We are deeply grateful for their ongoing support of our emerging artists.
On behalf of the RGS community, we congratulate Hope and Ella on their success; their artistic talents have truly shone through.
