RGS Worcester Wins Chamber Business Award
We are delighted to share that The RGS Worcester Family of Schools has been awarded the ‘Best Use of Technology and Trends’ at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2025.
It was a true honour to be recognised by the region’s leading business network—not just for excellence in education, but as a forward-thinking organisation at the forefront of technology and trends innovation. The award celebrates our leadership in using technology to drive meaningful change across teaching, learning and operational efficiency and reflects how The RGS Worcester Family of Schools is setting an example within both the education and business communities.
The award was made after we completed a detailed written entry which included information from pupils as well as staff, followed by a rigorous interview which tested the validity of the information and then asked about leadership in our use of technology and innovation.
John Jones, Assistant Head and Director of Innovation, commented: “This award highlights our commitment to ensuring technology enhances what we do as a school, but also that we prepare our pupils—and staff—for the world beyond school. It’s exciting to be recognised not only as a leader in education, but in the broader context of innovation across the region.”
The judges praised the School’s comprehensive approach to Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption—from staff CPD and pupil digital literacy, to operational efficiencies across the business. Through pioneering AI integration, we have developed systems that support teachers, personalise learning and equip pupils with critical skills for the future.
RGS Worcester’s role as a thought leader was further recognised for our work with other schools, national conferences and policy discussions. This includes delivering AI training to over 750 teachers, speaking at national events such as the BETT Show and at Apple HQ, and contributing to government-led conversations on AI in education. The entry in the Business Awards Programme stated: “RGS Worcester is the leading co-educational day school in the West Midlands, offering education to pupils aged 11-18.”
Executive Head, John Pitt, added: “We are delighted to have been acknowledged by the Chamber of Commerce business community. This award reflects the hard work of our entire staff and reinforces that RGS Worcester is preparing pupils for the future—and helping shape education for the benefit of all pupils. We were the only school represented at the Awards event and very pleased to be identified as a leader in education.”
This recognition adds to a remarkable year for The RGS Worcester Family of Schools, which includes being named the top co-educational independent day school in the West Midlands by The Sunday Times, winning ‘Independent School of the Year for Educational Partnerships’, being named in the Top 10 schools nationally for philanthropic efforts, and becoming the first and only school in the UK to receive the AI Quality Mark Gold Award.
Congratulations to everyone involved in achieving this award and for continuing to position RGS Worcester as a regional and national leader in educational innovation.
