RGS Worcester Family of Schools Awarded UK’s First AI Quality Mark Gold Award
The RGS Worcester Family of Schools is proud to have been awarded the AI Quality Mark Gold Award by the Good Future Foundation, becoming the first school in the UK to achieve this recognition. This prestigious award celebrates the Schools’ leadership and innovation in the responsible integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education.
The Good Future Foundation praised The RGS Worcester Family of Schools for their commitment to shaping the future of learning, recognising achievements in strategic leadership, curriculum development, and professional growth. Inspectors commended the Schools’ clear and thoughtful vision for AI, which is already having a positive impact across the curriculum and wider school community.
Assistant Head and Director of Innovation, Mr John Jones commented, “We are proud to lead the way in shaping how AI can enhance education responsibly and meaningfully. This award reflects the thoughtful, future-focused work of our staff and pupils and our commitment to preparing young people for the world they are entering.”
Pupils across the RGS Schools benefit from engaging with AI tools such as Quizizz worksheets and scrapbook assignments that encourage critical thinking about ethical and technological issues. AI is also being used to support pupils with special educational needs through inclusive, visual tools. Pupils are taught how to use AI appropriately, supported by clear guidance including the School’s ‘Golden Rules for Using AI Tools’, Acceptable Use Policy, and assemblies that explore both the opportunities and limitations of AI.
The Schools have also prioritised staff development and community engagement, delivering training, workshops and webinars on AI to teachers and parents. RGS Worcester has become a hub for best practice, regularly welcoming other schools seeking to learn from its work.
Executive Head, Mr John Pitt, reflected: “This Gold Award places the RGS Worcester Family of Schools at the forefront of education in the UK. It highlights our role in shaping the national conversation about how AI can be used safely, effectively, and ethically to enrich education. We are pleased to be recognised in this way because schools have to engage now, and we have to prepare our pupils effectively for their future. To be the only school to achieve the Gold Award demonstrates this commitment at RGS.”
This latest recognition follows a number of recent accolades for The RGS Worcester Family of Schools, including being named the top co-educational independent day school in the West Midlands by The Sunday Times Parent Power Schools Guide 2025, winning ‘Independent School of the Year for Educational Partnerships’, and being shortlisted for a H&W Chamber of Commerce Award and the Edufuturist Awards—testament to RGS Worcester’s continued leadership in education, innovation, and community outreach.
Congratulations to pupils, staff and parents and well done everyone – a superb achievement!
