Mr Breffit Makes a Difference, One Shave at a Time
Mr Breffit, Head of the Philosophy and Religion Department, embraced the spirit of giving this winter with a unique twist on the ‘Movember’ tradition: a ‘Reverse Movember’ event, namely a winter shave. Mr Breffit had been growing his beard during November and offered to have it removed in return for fundraising for charity.
This entertaining spectacle saw Head of Mathematics, Mr Scanlon, equipped with his trusty clippers, taking on the role of barber to give Mr Breffit a very public shave, or as Mr Breffit described it, a “pogonotomy.” All pupils were invited to watch the transformation for a donation of at least £1.
The funds raised will be shared between three meaningful causes: Movember, supporting men’s mental and physical health initiatives; Maggs, a local charity aiding those experiencing homelessness; and Worcester Street Café, which provides food and support to those in need.
A fundraising page has also been set up for parents and staff to contribute. Donations of any size are encouraged, as they will make a difference in supporting these important causes, particularly during the challenging winter months.
