Junior Mathematicians Make It Count
The recent Junior Mathematics Challenge saw RGS pupils achieve excellent results once again, demonstrating their strong problem-solving and numerical skills in this popular national competition. In most papers, at least one of the 25 puzzles is based on the current year. 2025 is particularly notable as it is 452 and the question-setters duly obliged with a question about its factors. Just over 100 pupils from Years Seven and Eight took part and tackled this and all the other puzzles with aplomb, achieving 16 Gold, 37 Silver and 40 Bronze certificates in total. Top performances came from Sean Yang in Year Eight and Ben Pech in Year Seven, with eight pupils in total gaining 100 marks or more out of 135. Well done to everyone who took part!
