Hockey Goes from Strength to Strength
Hockey continues to go from strength to strength at RGS Worcester for both Boys and Girls with strong numbers at Talent Academies, some representing the County at various age groups and many taking the opportunity to play at club level.
The latest success saw Anya Peddereddy, Olivia Southall, Flo Kelly and Olivia Harkness win the Regional finals with the Worcestershire Under 14s.
All at RGS would like to wish Lexi Agoston, Olivia Southall, Molly Bedford and Amy Higgins the very best of luck as they are part of the Stourport Hockey Under 14 team that take part in the National Tier 1 Cup finals this Sunday at Beeston Hockey Club. Throughout the competition, the girls competed against some of the country’s top clubs including Marlow, Wimbledon and Clifton. Their winning form sees them reach this Sunday’s finals against home club Beeston and a chance to lift the National trophy.
All the pupils have been integral parts of the Under 14 Hockey team this year at school and also all have progressed on the Athlete Development Programme. All the girls have been given the opportunity to progress their Hockey this season at the incredible new Worcester International Hockey Centre and have had access to additional lunch time clinics with sports professionals to perfect and hone their skills. We wish them all the best and hope they bring the trophy back to Worcestershire.
Congratulations to the players – we are all very proud of your achievements.
Miss Sally Walton, Head of Hockey
