‘Friday Night Lights’ Hockey Excites
On Friday 27 September we hosted Shrewsbury School at our International Hockey Centre for our ‘Friday Night Lights’ fixture.
The fixture saw the Senior 1st XI and 2nd XI teams compete. The atmosphere was electric, and the 1st XI achieved a remarkable 10-0 win and the 2nd XI secured a 7-0 win. Spectators were welcome to come and support the girls in what proved to be an excellent display of high-quality Hockey. Younger pupils were able to support the older girls and learn from their distinct RGS style of play. We welcomed students from RGS The Grange as well as other RGS pupils and lots of parents.
The 1st XI followed this success by beating Bromsgrove School in the second round of the England National Cup competition in a narrow 3-2 victory. On Wednesday 16 October, the 1st and 2nd XIs will play King’s School for the Severn Shield. King’s is hosting this year at the pitch at Bishop Perowne School. Please do come and support the RGS teams if you can!
