Advocates of visors from the RGSW DT department
RGS Worcester was asked whether we could supply face visors to a local charity Onside Advocacy.
One of the original conditions we had to meet when we started making visors, which was laid out by the government, was for us to manufacture and offer them only to medical practitioners. As we had not received any recent requests from the NHS we were able to assist this charity. With the materials left, we made a batch of 25. Each visor is supplied with a headband and two front visors which can be replaced.
Onside Advocacy is a Worcestershire and Herefordshire based charity which supports vulnerable people disadvantaged by disability, mental ill-health, learning difficulties. The visors we have supplied will be used by their advocates and volunteers when visiting their vulnerable clients as the homes and certain wards begin to open up.
Kate Harvey, CEO of Onside Advocacy, said: “Really heartfelt thank you to RGS for their fantastic donation of PPE visors to Onside. We work with some of the most vulnerable and isolated people in the county who have been particularly hard hit by the COVID-19 crisis. This equipment will be a huge boost in our efforts to get out and make more direct contact with people who need our help and who are desperate to have face to face support.”
