RGS Champions on the Track and in the Field
RGS athletes have been in exceptional form this season, demonstrating their determination at both county and national level.
At the Hereford & Worcestershire County Championships for the Minor Age Group, our young athletes delivered an impressive set of results. Harry stormed to gold in the 80m Hurdles, Ben claimed silver in the 800m, Dylan secured silver in the Triple Jump and Sam earned bronze in the 300m.
The success continued at the Hereford and Worcester County School Championships, where Flo took gold in the Inter Girls’ Hammer and Georgina not only won gold in the Junior Girls’ High Jump but also set a new school record of 1.54m, competing a year up in the Year Nine category. Tom took silver in the Inter Boys’ 100m hurdles, while Hamish placed 6th in the Junior Boys’ Long Jump. In the field events, Will earned bronze in the Junior Boys’ Javelin and Will soared to gold in the Inter Boys’ High Jump. On the track, Toby took bronze in the Junior Boys’ 100m and Elizabeth claimed silver in the Inter Girls’ Long Jump.
Capping off an outstanding season, RGS Worcester celebrated two national titles at the National Prep Schools Athletics competition on 2 July. Harry was crowned Under 14 Boys’ National 80m Hurdle Champion, and Georgina continued her incredible run of form, becoming the Under 14 Girls’ National High Jump Champion. Upper Sixth Form pupil Fin has been selected to represent the Hereford & Worcester County Schools team in the 400m at the National English Schools Championships.
