OEs Inspire Oxbridge Hopefuls!
We were delighted to welcome back two former students to RGS to lead an Oxbridge Guidance session aimed at current pupils in the Middle School and Lower Sixth Form who are thinking of applying to Oxford or Cambridge Universities. Development & Alumni Relations Manager, Mrs Sophie Borrillo-McLellan, shares the following report:
“We are so grateful to OEs Mar Poyser (2006-2022) and Will Osborne (2006-2021) who returned to RGS Worcester this September to advise current pupils here who are thinking about applying to the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford. This event is always very useful and informative, as pupils can hear first-hand from alumni who have recently gone through the Oxbridge process and enjoyed studying at Undergraduate level.
It was an absolute pleasure to hear how much both Mar and Will are enjoying their time at University, to understand a bit more about how they found the application and interview process, and to give our pupils the chance to ask any questions they had as they prepare their applications. Questions varied from managing workload, enquiries about the co-curricular offerings at the Universities, and what our OEs enjoy most. It was so lovely to hear how both Mar and Will have developed a real passion for their subjects, and enjoyed other opportunities and sporting activities.
As ever, we are so thankful to Mar, Will, and the many of our alumni community who so generously give their time to support our students here at RGS.”
