Jasper Represents Aston Villa in Prestigious International Tournament
We are incredibly proud of Year Seven pupil Jasper Jones, who was recently selected to represent Aston Villa at the prestigious DAC Under 13s Cup in Slovakia. Held in Dunajská Streda from 23–25 May 2025, the tournament brought together elite youth teams from across Europe, providing a highly competitive platform for some of the continent’s most promising young footballers.
Jasper’s selection to play for the Aston Villa Under 13s, a year above his age group, is a remarkable achievement in itself and a reflection of his talent, dedication, and hard work. His place on the team was earned through recognition by the group leads at Aston Villa, where he has been training as part of their Academy for the past two years. He has recently secured a new two-year contract to continue with the Under 13/14 squads.
Although the team faced tough opposition in Slovakia, including older and physically stronger players, they performed competitively throughout the match. While the DAC Cup was a valuable experience, it was another recent tournament in Dublin that stood out most to Jasper, where his team reached the final and narrowly missed out on victory against AC Milan.
Jasper has already represented Aston Villa in international tournaments across Holland, Germany, Ireland, Slovakia, Poland and France—an outstanding record for a player of his age. Reflecting on his experiences so far, Jasper said, “I am really happy to be playing in the Academy and I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences it is giving me. I hope there will be more.”
Jasper’s achievements on the international stage are truly commendable and we look forward to following his journey as he continues to develop.
