Year Ten Learn the Building Blocks of Robotics at Legoland
On Tuesday, our Year Ten GCSE Computer Science pupils embarked on an exciting educational trip to Legoland Windsor. The day was dedicated to exploring the fascinating world of robotics using the Lego Spike kits in a range of workshops, which provided an excellent opportunity for the pupils to see the practical application of their Computer Science studies. They delved into the iterative process of designing and programming robots, gaining hands-on experience that brought their classroom lessons to life. The pupils were deeply engaged, assembling their robotic creations with enthusiasm and curiosity.
The poor weather couldn’t dampen the spirits and it was a delight to see the pupils enjoying working together, solving problems and testing their robots in various challenges. The trip enhanced their understanding of robotics and encouraged teamwork and creativity as well as competition!
Head of Computing and IT, Mr Andrew Webster, said: “This STEM opportunity at Legoland Windsor was a resounding success, blending education with fun and leaving a lasting impression on our aspiring Computer Scientists.”
This memorable day brought classroom concepts to life and also inspired our pupils, igniting a passion for future technological explorations.
