Social and emotional wellbeing at RGS Dodderhill is about equipping girls with the understanding, language and confidence to navigate life with clarity and resilience.

Wellbeing is woven into daily school life, supporting girls to understand themselves, manage relationships, handle challenge and maintain focus as they grow through childhood and adolescence.

Girls are supported to develop the skills they need to manage emotions, communicate effectively and respond thoughtfully to challenge. This includes:

  • Learning strategies to manage pressure and change

Early Awareness and Timely Support

RGS Dodderhill’s close-knit environment means changes in wellbeing are recognised early. Support is responsive and proportionate, helping small concerns remain manageable and supporting girls before challenges escalate.

Girls are encouraged to seek guidance confidently and develop self-awareness, knowing that appropriate support is available when needed.

Specialist Support When Required

Alongside everyday wellbeing education, RGS Dodderhill has access to trained professionals who can offer specialist support where appropriate. This includes:

  • Pastoral leaders with wellbeing expertise
  • Mental health practitioners and School Counsellors
  • The School Nurse
  • Specialist therapeutic support, when required

Where additional expertise is needed, external professionals are engaged promptly to ensure girls receive the right support at the right time.
