Welcome to the RGS Dodderhill Senior Section

The small size of our girls’ senior school allows us to offer each individual girl a bespoke education based on her strengths, needs, interests and talents.

Years Nine, Ten and Eleven (the GCSE years) form the Senior Section of RGS Dodderhill independent school for girls. An experienced team of tutors, who know the girls well and look after their day to day needs are the first point of contact for parents.

The highly experienced and well qualified specialist subject staff and SENCo aim to support girls that find some areas of the curriculum more challenging, whilst also extending those that are most able within the gifted and talented programme.  This is one of the reasons that we are consistently at the top of the Worcestershire League Tables for our GCSE results and continue to stand out against other independent girls’ schools.

Alongside the very high academic standards we set in the Senior Section, it is our aim to develop well-rounded and balanced young women who will achieve their full potential in all areas. Good work habits, an enquiring mind and the ability to think independently are characteristics of the confident young women who leave RGS Dodderhill after their GCSEs. Sixth Forms and Colleges in the area are always pleased to accept RGS Dodderhill girls for their next stage of education and many achieve scholarships to their first choice of Sixth Form. A high percentage do go on to the Sixth Form at RGS Worcester.

Girls in the Senior Section are encouraged to fulfil their potential in a wide range of academic, practical, creative and physical activities. Nearly all girls in Year 10 complete the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award to help build confidence and resilience, as well as independence and teamwork. All girls take part in the large variety of extra-curricular activities ranging from choirs, orchestras, sports clubs and volunteering within the local community. We have several pupils who compete at county, regional and national level. Through a stimulating enrichment programme, study skills, careers advice and preparation for Sixth Form girls are supported and developed.

Our most recent ISI inspection (March 2017) confirmed that we have retained the highest rating of ‘excellent’ in all areas.

Parents wishing to provide the best opportunity for their daughter to achieve her full potential at GCSE level are encouraged to contact the school to discuss entry at the earliest opportunity.
