RGS Dodderhill International Policy – September 2023
At RGS Dodderhill, we provide pupils with opportunities which enable them to prepare for life beyond the school gates as global citizens. Throughout their time with us, we give all pupils opportunities to:
- Develop their learning characteristics through Global Citizenship or International Educational activities
- Attend residential trips focusing on linguistic, sporting, cultural or social outcomes
- Learn Modern Foreign Languages from Nursery to Year 11
- Participate in whole school activities which promote intercultural dialogue and observe key events in cultures other than our own
- Engage with current social, political and humanitarian issues through Personal Social Health and Economic (PHSE) education lessons or Form Time guided discussions
- Develop oral communication skills through debating, public speaking and delivering presentations
- Organise fundraising events in support of good causes as part of the Pupil Leadership Team

The International Activities Coordinator is Mrs Cordelia Checketts (Head of Modern Foreign Languages)
- Plan and deliver activities which provide all pupils with opportunities to learn about Global Citizenship or International Education
- Document and share activities relating to Global Citizenship or International Education via the school website, social media feeds or school newsletters.
- Evaluate activities which have been undertaken for the school’s Governing Body.
