Learning activities with an international focus
The Modern Foreign Languages department at RGS Dodderhill is committed to providing our pupils with a linguistic and cultural education which equips them for a fulfilling life in the wider world. One of the ways that we work on this aim is through our Global Citizenship Project. We have put together a range of learning opportunities alongside colleagues throughout the school and with the full support of the Senior Leadership of our school, which offer our pupils greater depth in their language studies and wider cultural awareness.
This work was recognised in June 2024 by the British Council, which awarded our school the Intermediate International School Award. This year, we are working towards full accreditation as an International School through our ongoing Global Citizenship Project.
We hope you enjoy seeing the range of activities that we have done this year to meet our goals.
Personnel
Our Global Citizenship Team is led by Mrs Cordelia Checketts, who is the International Coordinator. She is enthusiastically supported in the languages department by Mrs Maria Di Risio for the Senior School and Mrs Amanda MacRae in the Prep School. In addition, Mrs Caroline Vinson actively supports the project as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
The nature of these projects spreads throughout the staff body in order to touch the lives of as many children as possible in our school community.
