Before and After School Care at RGS Springfield is provided at no additional cost and is included in the school fees.
BEFORE SCHOOL CARE
School doors open at 7.45am and children from Years One to Six play together in the hall, or outside in the summer. Early Years children go straight to Nursery. All children are supervised by familiar school staff during this time, and breakfast is available until 8am. At 8.25am, the children go up to their classrooms where they will be registered by their teachers and have form time. This is the formal start of the school day.
AFTER SCHOOL CARE
For parents unable to pick their children up at 3.30pm, the school runs After School Care from 3.30pm to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. During this time children will enjoy a “little tea” provided from home. They can complete homework, be heard reading or do spellings under the supervision of qualified staff, most of whom also work at the school during the day. They also enjoy downtime with their friends, or take part in one of the many clubs on offer.
There is always lots for our children to enjoy from art and craft, construction toys, cookery and puzzles to Lego challenges. During the lighter evenings and in the summer term the children spend most of their time outside on the paddock, enjoying a range of games and activities.
Additional wrap-around care is a priority for busy parents.
