We have 6 highly trained and experienced Nursery practitioners. 

Our day includes adult-led circle times and activities, as well as free-flow outdoor play and lots of child-initiated opportunities. We include Music, PE, Music and Movement, Funky Fingers, Forest School and French. Our children are busy and stimulated by our indoor and outdoor provision.

We offer a Holiday club during all School holiday periods, with the exception of one week over Christmas.  This runs either at RGS Dodderhill Nursery or at our sister School RGS The Grange. Further details are available from our Registrar.

PE, Music and French take place with specialist teachers, there is a Forest School afternoon every week and access to the full facilities of our wonderful school.

Nursery is an important, fully integrated, part of our school. All our Nursery children take part in school events such as Christmas plays, Sports Day, Mothers Day, Harvest Festival and Activities Week.

Yes, we plan activities in line with the EYFS Framework and we carefully monitor every pupil’s progress against the Early Learning Goals. Parents receive regular reports and updates about progress in Nursery and we always share the children’s achievements at home through our WOW moments.

We work with parents to share developments at home as well as those at Nursery to ensure we carefully track every child’s development in the seven key areas of learning.

We use a daily diary for communication, but we also have personal feedback at the start and end of every day. We also use Seesaw to share photographs, messages and information from special moments each day. 

All our Nursery children have a nutritious hot lunch prepared by our school caterers on site. We aim for a family service where pupils and teachers all eat together. Parents are always amazed by the wide range of food their children will eat when they are surrounded by their friends.

Yes, we use Holrhoyd Howe – a trusted catering company with an excellent reputation. Our school chefs know every child and they ensure everyone has a robust lunch.

Fruit, milk and water are provided for a mid-morning snack. If children take advantage of our wrap-around care until 6.00pm, parents can send in a ‘Little Tea’

Yes, this is an important part of your child’s transition to Nursery and can be arranged as soon as they turn 2 years old.

We will take time to get to know you and your child well. We will ensure we have toys and activities ready to engage them from the very first visit.

Every child can have a lunch time sleep on mats with blankets or in a pushchair.
